Because Melbourne is in a Cool/Cold climate it is important to understand what can be planted during Autumn to maximise the best crops to utilise. Autumn planting typically falls from March 21 to June 21. The Sun rises in the East and sets in the West and there are roughtly 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night. With May drawing to a close the best crops to have planted would be Cress, Onions, Garlic, Pak Choy and all Asian greens, lettuce of all kind, and Mustard greens. Crossing in to June and the last month of Autumn you can also plant Spinach, Broccoli, Climbing peas and dwarf peas.
Happy planting and enjoy your own home grown veggies.
