N-ACETYL CARNITINE

Endura N-Acetyl Carnitine assists with the conversion of body fat into energy which may assist endurance and stamina. N-Acetyl Carnitine transports fat molecules straight into the mitochondria of active muscles as an energy source.

N-Acetyl Carnitine is also important for normal cellular energy production as it is here where the fatty acids are transported into the cells for energy.

  • MAY ASSIST WITH STAMINA AND ENDURANCE
  • MAY BE BENEFICIAL DURING TIMES OF PHYSICAL EXERTION
  • MAYBE BENEFICIAL IN SUPPORTING NORMAL AND HEALTH COGNITIVE FUNCTION, INCLUDING CONCENTRATION.
N-Acetyl Carnitine is best taken twice daily. 1 metric teaspoon before physical activity and 1 teaspoon at lunch time with water or juice.

N-Acetyl Carnitine is  great support for athletes of all kinds, but is also very beneficial for those who are under cognitive stress. Along with Vitamin C, N-Acetyl Carnitine is synthesised and transported across cell membranes where the fatty acids undergo beta-oxidation. N-Acetyl Carnitine is also important for both skeletal and heart muscles....

ANTI-INFLAMMATORY AND JOINT PROTECTION

Many people are unaware of the incredible healing properties of Herbs and in particular the not so common ones like Boswellia.

Boswellia Serrata has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. These properties are due to the active constituents, known as boswellic acids, which reduce the formation of inflammatory leukotrienes. Boswellia resin has been used traditionally for the treatment of many inflammatory conditions including rheumatic disorders and pulmonary diseases, especially those of chronic nature.

Boswellia has reported significant results in studies and clinical trials, in the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee. Boswellia has shown significant decreases in knee pain and increases in knee flexion.

So if you suffer from any of these conditions Boswellia along with MSM  will have a marked effect in the reduction of pain and inflammation especially within the knee joint. Whether  you are an athlete, do weight training or suffer from Osteo or Rheumatoid arthritis you will benefit greatly from this amazing herb.

VITAMIN C (ASCORBIC ACID)

Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) The King of Vitamins and very often misunderstood for it's amazing longevity and disease preventing properties.

Ascorbic Acid is a water-soluble vitamin that is necessary for the body;s growth and development. It is synthesised by plants and majority of animals from glucose and galactose. However there are a small amount of primates, members of the animal kingdom along with Humans that lack the enzyme required for biosynthesis of Ascorbic Acid. Thus Ascorbic Acid is an essential nutrient (vitamin) that must be obtained from dietary or supplemental origins

Here are just two reasons why we should take
Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid).

  1. Iron Regulation - Ascorbic Acid is involved with the regulation of iron through a number of different mechanisms. It enhances iron absorption within the gastrointestinal tract by regulating iron transfer and storage pathways.
  2. L-Carnitine Synthesis and Fatty Acid Transport - Ascorbic Acid is required for synthesis of L-Carnitine, an important compound necessary for the transportation of fatty acids across the mitochondrial membrane into the mitochondria where they are utilised as an energy source. L-Carnitine is an important compound for the production of cellular energy, particularly in heart and skeletal muscle.

HOW IS FAT DIGESTED IN THE BODY

Fat Cells in Adipose TissueAlthough a small amount of lipase is secreted by Ebner's glands on the tounge, and by the stomach, these digestive actions are not significant , as almost no real breakdown of fat occurs until the fats reach the duodenum in the form of gastric chyme.

Fat Breakdown In The Small Intestines.

Fat digestion and absorption requires that the complex fat molecules be broken down into the smaller more manageable  molecules. This is done by mixing the fat with the digestive enzyme lipase, which enters the duodenum from the pancreas - the main source of enzymes for digesting fats and proteins. Lipase chops up lipid molecules into fatty acid molecules. However, because fat does not dissolve in water, the fat molecules enter the duodenum in a congealed mass, which makes it impossible for the pancreatic lipase enzymes to attack them, since lipase is a water soluble enzyme and can only attack the surface of the fat molecules. To overcome this problem the digestive system uses a substance called bile, produced in the liver but stored in the gallbladder, which enters the duodenum via the           bile duct. Bile emulsifies fat - meaning, it disperses them into small droplets which then become suspended in the watery contents of the digestive tract. Emulsification allows lipase to gain easier access to the fat molecules and thus accelerates their breakdown and digestion.

How Fat is Digested And Absorbed Into The Bloodstream.

Lipase and other digestive juices  just break down the fat molecules into fatty acids and types glycerol. Absorption of fat into the body, which takes 10-15 minutes, occurs in the villi - the millions of finger-like projections which cover the walls of the small intestine. Inside each villus is a series of lymph vessels (lacteals) and blood vessels (capillaries). The lacteals absorb the fatty acids and glycerol into the lymphatic system which eventually drains into the bloodstream. The fatty acids are transported via the bloodstream to the membranes of adipose cells or muscle cells, where they are either stored or oxidised  for energy.. Since glucose rather than fat is the body's preferred source of energy , and since only about 5 percent of absorbed fat ( the glycerols) can be converted into glucose, a significant proportion of digested fat typically stored as body fat in the adipose cells. ( Pictured Above left typical fat stored in adipose cells). The glycerol part is absorbed by the liver and is either converted into glucose (gluconeogenesis), and/or used to help breakdown glucose into energy (glycolosis).

Lean Muscle gain

CONTROLLED LABS DH20 HYDROLYZED
WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATE

What is it for?

Controlled Labs DH20 is a 100% hydrolyzed whey protein isolate with a degree of hydrolysis of 20% as the sole protein source. In addition to the premium quality 100% Hydrolyzed Isolate, free form leucine and digestive enzymes Protease and Lactase help maximise the benefits and support digestion.

Controlled Labs DH20 is designed specifically to be used as a post workout protein, formulated to dramatically stimulate protein synthesis ( in simple terms,      muscle growth) and enhance recovery.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Fast Acting Easily Assimilated and Fast Acting Di and Tri Peptides.
Intense exercise can greatly reduce the capacity of the gastrointestinal tract to digest whole proteins found in foods such as dairy. Compared with whole proteins, Di and Tri peptides are rapidly absorbed through the gut within 20 minutes without bloating or gastric upset.  Di and Tri peptides contained within the hydrolyzed protein are assimilated intact by way of a peptide transport system in the gut. As such, they are rapidly digested and transport into the blood stream faster then whole proteins. It is the Di and Tri peptides that provide hydrolyzed proteins with an advantage over intact proteins like whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate during the post event post training window.

Stimulates an insulin response for improved nutrient uptake and growth.
The combination of peptide bound leucine and free form leucine plus the rapid acting nature of the hydrolyzed whey protein isolate promote the  the release of insulin from the pancreas. Insulin is a highly anabolic hormone that is responsible  for the storage of nutrients in insulin sensitive cells. Post resistance training, muscle cells are sensitive to the effects of insulin for up to three hours. Consuming Controlled Labs DH20 during this anabolic window period lets athletes naturally capitalise on the recovering muscle cells' increased nutritional requirements and receptivity to insulin.

Initiates the process of muscle protein synthesis.
Leucine is considered to be the most anabolic amino acid and stimulates protein synthesis in an equivalent manner to a whole protein. Leucine has demonstrated it's capacity to influence the fate of the other two branch chain amino acids ( Valine and Isoleeucine) for use in muscle protein synthesis, therby making it integral to the effectiveness of the BCAAs in supporting recovery. The combination of peptide bonded and free form leucine in the formula is designed to enhance protein synthesis and initiate the process as quickly as possible.

Helps support the digestive system.
Protease and Lactase have been added to the formula to enhance amino acid availability and offset any potential issues with the minute amount of lactose present in the hydrolyzed whey protein isolate.

Who is this product recommended for?
This product is ideal for athletes who want an easily digested and light protein for the post training/event window period. Most resistance training athletes will have a general purpose protein that they use throughout the day that has a 3-7 hour release rate. Post training they may wish to use a dedicated protein that has a much faster release rate and supplies their physiological needs for readily accessible  and useable protein to aid the repair of damaged muscles.

Where can i purchase this product from?

GNC Acland St St Kilda- 165 Acland St St Kilda
GNC Sth Melbourne - shop 106, 113 Cecil St South Melbourne.
RRP $109.95, 951 grams.

A WORD ON HIGH PROTEIN DIETS

Individuals who exercise, often and consume high-protein diets. here are some important considerations.
  1. Protein can be acidic, therefore consider balancing with high alkaline foods and supplements. A good rule of thumb is 80% alkaline and 20% acidic foods.
  2. Protein can deplete the body of digestive enzymes, causing poor digestion and assimilation of nutrients. This problem can be addressed by eating plenty of vegetables( must be raw!) or supplementing with digestive enzyme formulas.
  3. High fibre intake must accompany high protein intake for proper bowel elimination and detoxification. Psyllium husks are an excellent cheap fibre.

Here is a great website to checkout that provides and yes delivers, fresh Organic fruit and veg, along with great recipes on raw and superfood smoothies etc.
